  3. Receive criticism from  Dr. Adair and Lab TAs
  4. Discuss poster with classmates
  5. Begin editing poster

Critiques:

  1. Word visibility on the flow chart
  2. Small font size
  3. Too much blank space
  4. Inaccurate title
  5. Typos
  6. Organization of poster elements
  7. The orientation of gel images
  8. Well labels

Poster:

Edits Made: We changed the color of the flow chart for better visibility. We also added a section for objectives to fill some of the blank space presented in the photo. There were also some minor typos and errors that were fixed. We still have a working title although we did edit it to be more accurate to the project.

Future Steps/ Edits to be made: The orientation of the gel photos has not been changed and the labels of the wells have not been completed. Conclusion still needs some work done to improve accuracy. Soil metadata needs to be added to the results section in a visual and concise manner. More references need to be added and numbered. Organization of the Methods section and the Results section need to be switched.

Conclusion: The rough draft of the poster was a good starting point for our overall presentation. Our classmates and instructors gave some good points to improve the design of poster as well as the scientific accuracy.
