New Faculty Members Join Baylor School of Education [09/15/2017]


The School of Education welcomed five new full-time faculty members for the 2017-18 academic year, including additions in each academic department. A couple are familiar faces, while others are new to Baylor.

Jessica Akers, PhD, BCBA-D

Post-doctoral fellowship: University of Nebraska Medical Center

Dr. Jessica Akers has worked with children with autism and related disabilities in home-, center-, and school-based programs targeting both skill acquisition and the reduction of challenging behavior.

Her research interests include strategies for promoting appropriate social and play skills and verbal behavior in individuals with autism and related disabilities. She is primarily interested in targeting appropriate play between children with autism and their typically developing peers and siblings. She has published her research in journals including the Journal of Applied Behavior AnalysisLearning and Motivation, and The Analysis of Verbal Behavior. Continue Reading →

Tiffany Hogue Joins Baylor School of Education as Clinical Professor of Higher Education [05/09/2016]

Hogue-Tiffany-Blog650Tiffany Hogue, who served for thirteen years in Baylor’s Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, including the past five years as the provost’s chief of staff, has joined the School of Education in the role of Clinical Professor of Higher Education in the Department of Educational Administration. She will teach graduate courses in the areas of education leadership, governance and law and teach undergraduate courses in the Leadership minor, a program she initially will direct.

In announcing Hogue’s appointment, School of Education Dean Dr. Michael McLendon said, “Tiffany’s love for students and for teaching and her experience in leading many high-level academic initiatives at Baylor strengthens our capabilities at an important time in our school’s history.
