handbooks
As Biology Graduate Students, there are numerous resources available to you and we want to ensure you know about them all! The following handbooks are great compilations of these resources. Check them out!
CEGSS Handbook
The CEGSS handbook is compiled by Biology Grad Students for Biology Grad Students. This guides you through the ins and outs of life in Waco, as well as insider tips for navigating the department. You can also find a lot of the listed forms on our other Resources pages.
We update this handbook yearly and want your input. Think something awesome is missing? Let us know!
Department Handbook
The handbook distributed by the Biology Department is your most-comprehensive guide for the academic side of your graduate career in Biology.
If The Handbook describes the didactic (course work) and research phases of our graduate degrees. It presents degree requirements and recommended schedules for progressing through these requirements. It describes the faculty’s academic and professional expectations of you as you progress. Very importantly, it indicates the content areas in which you must demonstrate mastery for you to be successful in preliminary doctoral exams and in master’s oral exams. The appendix contains email links and/or copies of an array of forms that you’ll find relevant and useful during your studies.
We encourage you to carefully read this document. Please contact the Graduate Program Director Joseph Taube (Joseph_Taube@baylor.edu) if you have any questions.
