Are you interested in getting a bit of reimbursement for the General Student Fee, travel, society fees, etc.? Consider applying for the Smith Fellowship.
The Smith Fellowship promotes professional growth of Biology Graduate Students through support for presentation at society meetings, participation in academic guilds, purchase of texts, extramural training and other financial support. This fellowship is merit and need-based, to be awarded this scholarship you must submit a current FAFSA with the Financial Aid Office to confirm eligibility. Reimbursement for this support will be credited to your student account per policy of the Financial Aid Office.
In order to file a FAFSA, you will need to go to their website and follow the prompts as either a new or a returning user. While filling out the form, make sure that you put in the correct college code so that it will be filtered to Baylor’s Financial Aid Office. Baylor’s college code is 003545. We’ve included a handy pdf pamphlet below that may help with the process.
If you are an International Student, you are not eligible to fill out a FAFSA. Instead, you will need to complete a CSS Profile and it costs $25 to submit.
Once you have filled out the appropriate government paperwork, you need to fill out the Smith Fellowship Application. You will then turn in the finished application and relevant receipts (E-Bill Statement, trip costs, etc.) to Amanda Martinez (firstname.lastname@example.org) in the Biology Department Office.
