Nuts and bolts DS research methods we are covering this semester will include:
- Measuring emotions and mood within language by measuring valence, arousal, and dominance as demonstrated in this paper.
- Extracting content from Twitter and Facebook APIs.
- Calculating social media sentiment using VaderSentiment and performance metrics by adopting methodologies described in this paper.
- Applying Levenshtein Distance to fuzzy text matching patterns using fuzzywuzzy.
