Homecoming

This was homecoming weekend and what a weekend it was! First, as soon as we got back from the PEP trip on Friday, Zahra and I ran home to change clothes, picked up my hubby, and then came right back to campus for the pep rally and bonfire. But not before stopping by the business building to enjoy the lovely reception for a little while first. I saw a couple of my professors and it was nice to talk to them outside the classroom setting.

Then it was time to go check out the festivities. Paloma and Abhi got there just in time. We really wanted to ride the ferris wheel but the line was ridiculously long, so we decided against waiting and grabbed a good spot where we could watch and enjoy all the craziness. I have to say that I was extremely impressed by the Baylor homecoming, especially since it wasn’t nearly as big a deal at UT. The fireworks and the size of the bonfire were way beyond what I was expecting.

The next day, we went to Colonel Garner’s house before the game for his annual homecoming party. We had great food and great conversation with classmates, healthcare executives, alumni, and students who are in their residencies this semester. Then we walked to the stadium to watch the Bears beat Kansas! The weather got a little sketchy at one point, but not before the band finished their incredible performance. It really was the coolest and most creative halftime show I have ever seen! I would highly suggest googling it if you didn’t get to see it.

All in all, it was a very busy but very fun homecoming weekend. I know there are a few things I missed, like the parade, but I will try to check that out next time. It was a long week and I really didn’t want to wake up extra early that day. But I’m sure it was just as cool as the rest of the homecoming activities.
