Baylor in Oxford

Dr. Scales co-directs the Baylor In Oxford program, a summer study-abroad program that offers Baylor students the amazing opportunity to live and to study in Oxford, England–“the city of dreaming spires.” Baylor in Oxford is an intentionally small study abroad trip, with typical enrollment of 20-24 students. You can expect close interactions with your faculty and the opportunity to forge strong bonds with fellow students.

Baylor students live at Christ Church, affectionately called “the House,” the largest and most prestigious of Oxford colleges. We take our meals in the magnificent Great Hall, have classes overlooking Tom Quad, and have the opportunity to worship in Christ Church Cathedral. After class, students may stroll through Christ Church meadow, punt along the River Isis, or fall asleep under the “Jabberwocky” tree. Christ Church is the setting for portions of Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited, Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, and numerous scenes from the Harry Potter movies.
