Waco Suspension Bridge

The Waco Suspension Bridge spans the Brazos at Elm St., just across from the Hilton. Completed in 1870, it was an important crossing on the Chisholm Trail. It was constructed by the Roebling Company of Trenton, NJ and, together with its sister bridge in Cincinnati, it served as a prototype for the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge.

The bridge is open to pedestrians and is part of the local riverwalk.
