Three weeks in!

Friends, I’ve made it three weeks.  I’m just as surprised as you are.

One of the revelations that I’ve had is that, at the beginning of the semester, I had that feeling of everything being so big, wondering how I was going to finish it all, whether I would be good enough, and all those other feelings.  And as each day has come, I’ve been able to do small, manageable pieces of work.  Bite sizes of the semester, if you will.  I don’t feel like I’ve completely mastered anything, but at the same time, I don’t feel like I’ve started sinking.  Treading water, maybe even dog paddling.  I’m not going to be in the Olympics any time soon, but I also won’t drown.  That’s a good feeling.

The normal semester has chunks to it, in my experience.  At the beginning, you’re just trying to figure a professor out, learn expectations, feel out what class is going to be like.  Three weeks in, you’re starting to hit your stride.  I like that about this point in the semester.  None of this is to say that I’ve got it all down, but I’m starting to feel more comfortable.  Then, the sprint to the finish, getting all the points you can so that you can get the grade you want.

Class might actually be fun to go to…

…depending on this accounting exam grade.
