Fundamentals of Data Research (FDR) Fellows 2021
Come join us on September 10 for this year’s Data Research Fellow presentations! Managed by the Library’s Data & Digital Scholarship program, fifteen fellows (ten faculty, five graduate students) learned how to integrate data science methods into their research. The 2021 Fellows are from a wide assortment of academic departments, including Church Music, Curriculum & Instruction, Education Leadership, History, Modern Languages & Cultures, Philosophy, Religion, Social Work, Sociology, and Theater Arts.
The presentations will be varied and exciting! From medical professionals’ use of the term monstrous births, to machine learning algorithms to identify locations in 18th Century French texts, to mapping dog burial sites in Israel, to exploring relationships between gender and occupation, to a data analysis of music chords in contemporary Christian music, to visualizing the gender distribution in Broadway shows, and much more. Featured speakers will include University Libraries’ Associate Dean Sha Towers and College of Arts & Sciences Associate Dean, Kimberly Kellison.
Date/Time: Friday, September 10, 1-2:30pm
