Golf & Style are Best Friends

I have always loved the sport of golf. It is a great social sport. Every year my father,my brother, and I watch the major tournaments together. I will never forget watching Tiger Woods win two Masters in a row, or watching Phil hit the incredible 6 iron shot on the 13th hole in the trees. Golf is about heritage, finesse, charisma, and yes, style. Golf has influenced the world when it comes to its style. So much so that Ralph Lauren launched his golf line in 1998. Professional golfers have always been well dressed, this adds class to the sport. Other than enjoying God’s beauty outdoors on the course, I enjoy the fact that there are no uniforms. You can dress up and look your best, even if you are not playing your best. Of course with golf you are required to move a little. I do not know if you have ever swung a club before, but it is pretty difficult if you have a lot of fabric on. Here is what I suggest for winter and summer Golf:

Winter

Wear some tailored slacks that are light. Strap on a black or brown belt, but make sure the color of the belt matches the color of your shoes. A clean golf polo (short or long sleeve). Tie it all together with a light cotton cardigan. The great thing about a cardigan is that it will keep you worm, you can move your arms, and it can go with just about anything. A navy cardigan is a MUST have in your golf wardrobe. Navy is a versatile color which you can put against any other colors.

SUMMER

Summer golf is my personal favorite. You dress light and get a tan, who could hate that? My suggestion is simple. Wear some light khakis (short or long) and a light polo. I personally am a huge fan of the sort shorts. Tailor your inseam according to your height. For example, I am 6 feet tall and I wear a 6 to 7 inch inseam.
