About

The Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development, located in the Baylor School of Education, provides exciting educational opportunities for gifted and talented students in Grades 1–12; professional development for teachers, counselors, and administrators of gifted students and programs; and support for parents of gifted and talented students. Founded in 1999, the Center has focused on meeting the needs of students for more than 20 years.

The Center’s preeminent program for gifted and talented students is the University for Young People (UYP), a three-week summer enrichment camp held each June for gifted and talented students in Grades 1–12. Each fall, we offer a professional development conference for teachers and program administrators. The Center also offers a parent conference in the spring semester designed to inform, provide useful resources, and create a supportive network for parents of gifted students.
