University for Young People 2020

For four decades, the University for Young People (UYP) has offered enrichment courses for gifted students during the summer. We look forward to having students in Grades 1–12 join us each June, and this year was no exception. Unfortunately, due to concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Baylor has made the difficult decision to cancel 2020 summer programs. The Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development will continue to plan programs for gifted students, and UYP will be stronger than ever in 2021. Thank you for your understanding and support. (Updated 4/13/2020)

The Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development’s University for Young People (UYP) program for students identified as gifted and talented is offered every June. Classes for students entering Grades 4–12 are held on the Baylor campus. Students may choose from dozens of courses, each lasting one week. The all-day schedule includes lunch and a short recreational time between the classes.
