Family Backround
Mother’s Family
There are two countries that my mother’s side of the family comes from which are both located across the Atlantic Ocean in Europe. My mother’s father, my grandfather, was born in Hungary and sailed across the Atlantic as a young boy to come to America to live. As for my mother’s mother, my grandmother, she was born in New York here in the United States, but her side of the family was originally from Sicily, Italy. Being Hungarian and Italian only make up half of my ethnicity as my fathers side of the family is from a different area.
Father’s Family
My father’s side of the family, himself included are all from a country in Europe named Lebanon. My father is originally from the capital city, Beirut, but came to the United States for his college career. My father’s back round, just like my mother’s, has had a huge impact on my personal culture and my beliefs. The biggest impact these cultures have had on me are definitely the type of food that I love to eat, which ranges from Mediterranean food to Italian.
Personal
Throughout my life, I have had a wide variety of cultures, different foods and types of people that have had a massive impact on who I am today. Through the celebration of different holidays throughout the year with different cultures, I have had a more diverse childhood than most people with a single back round of ethnicity. This leaves me always wanting to learn more about other cultures and the ways people from other parts of the world go about their days. The diverse childhood I have had has opened doorways of interest for me towards other countries around the globe.
