On September 23, 19CRS presented the 2022 Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Awards (OGSPA). OGSPA is a high point in the semester as we celebrate the high-quality work of the winning Baylor graduate students working in 19th-century studies. This year’s recipients were Allison Scheidegger, a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Department English, and Reilly Fitzpatrick, a second-year PhD student in the Department of English. Allison Scheidegger presented “’Having dared to touch with bloody hands the verses’: Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s Nurturing Approach to the Homeric Corpus” and Reilly Fitzpatrick presented “’Let them weep!’: Dialogic Decentering of the Poet in Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s ‘The Cry of the Children.”
