Compiled by Southside Baptist Church, this volume includes dishes such as “preacher’s casserole,” “angel food lemon fluff,” and “wacky devil’s food cake.” The bulk of the cookbook is devoted to recipes for pies, cakes, cookies, and other sweets. In addition to recipes, there is a section that highlights Bible verses meant to comfort those in times of need.

Published to celebrate St. Gregory the Great Catholic School’s 50th anniversary, this cookbook includes a short history of the church and school. In addition to many recipes, the cookbook also contains unique sections: “Cooking Tips,” “Napkin Folding,” “Calorie Counter,” “Cooking Terms,” etc.

This cookbook is organized in the traditional fashion with sections for vegetables, main dishes, breads, and desserts; however, there are also sections devoted to pickles, relish, and beverage recipes. As a sign of the times there is a recipe for “Watergate cake with coverup icing.”
