Diversity and Dominion: Book Chapter for Duke

As of Sept. 2007,  Duke University Press has accepted an edited volume in which I have a chapter.  The volume is temporarily entitled Diversity and Dominion, with Kyle van Houtan and Micheal Northcott as editors.  I contributed  “Anti-imperial themes and care for living nature in early Christian art.”  The manuscript discusses the relationship of early Christians to the Roman empire and colonialism and concludes that Christians did not accept Roman notions of exploitation of wildlife, especially as a symbol of Roman power,  as was the case in the Roman games.  I do not have a final publication date for the project.Â
