Working has been a big part of my life. My family runs a restaurant called The Rocket National Buffet and I’ve worked there since I was eight. I was first a dishwasher, then a waitress, a host, cashier, and then the manager. As the manager, I had to know how to do almost everything in the front of the restaurant and some in the back. I translate for my parents, and maintain the quality of the customer service as well as the food. My experiences at the restaurant helped increases my passion for communication and other aspects of running a successful business. Many thought that me being a manager of my own family’s restaurant wasn’t a job, but it was more than a job, it was me attributing to the survival of my family. I sacrificed my childhood and dedicated all my time and energy in working at the restaurant while I attended school.

After we sold our restaurant, I began looking for a new job. I was hired at McGinn’s Pistachio, a tourist site and home to the largest pistachio. I was their ice-cream scooper for the weekend since I had school and their work time was only doing school hours. Then I slowly became their sales clerk and customer service representative. I gotten over 400 reviews within a month compared to their total of 700 reviews they get in a year. I worked only on the weekends of that month and the runner up worked all month with only 160 reviews. I enjoy working at McGinn’s and the various challenges that tried to promote better employee performances.

Weeks before I had to come to college in Waco, I started to look for student work study. Iapplied to many places and two jobs caught my eyes.I manage to get both job and is now currently working at both MCFC, a faculty dinning center and at the Baylor Lariat as their advertising sales coordinator. When I utilize my time wisely by working I feel accomplish. I was raised within a hard-working family and my work-ethic has really reflect to how I was brought up.
