Over the years I’ve developed a list of my favorite Bible verses. I like to write them on sticky notes and keep them posted around my house in various places I would see them throughout the day. Here are a few of my all time favorites:
“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.”
–2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“Friends love through all kinds of weather,
and families stick together in all kinds of trouble.”
–Proverbs 17:17
“If you only look at us, you might well miss the brightness. We carry this precious Message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives. That’s to prevent anyone from confusing God’s incomparable power with us. As it is, there’s not much chance of that. You know for yourselves that we’re not much to look at. We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken.”
–2 Corinthians 4:7-10
“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.” –Isaiah 43:18
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
“No eye has seen,no ear has heard, and no human mind has conceived the things God has prepared for those who love Him.” — 1 Corinthians 2:9
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…” — Hebrews 12:1
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” — Philippians 4:6
