Joining Kappa Kappa Gamma is one of the best decisions I ever made. Kappa allows many opportunities to meet new friends and go to so many fun events. I would say my favorite part thus far is the relationships I have made since becoming a Kappa. I have met some of my best friends and hopefully they will be my friends for so many years to come.

Kappa gives us the incredible opportunity to serve the kids at Parkdale Elementary. The kids there are very underprivileged and we get to go see them almost every Friday and read to them. You can tell they come from some sad homes and sometimes they tell you about it and it is just heart breaking. I love how Kappa does this because it is such a great opportunity to be a light in a dark place.

Traditions are also a very important asset to Kappa Kappa Gamma. Every year, we put on Kappa Karnival, where we are able to raise money for our philanthropy. This is my favorite event of the year because many freshmen girls interested in Kappa recruitment attend. We also organize various events within the sorority. Sapphire is one of the few events; each member dresses in formal attire and takes a date to the function. Being able to stay involved is what I love so much about Kappa Kappa Gamma.
