Call to Prayer
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. (Psalm 51:15)
Glory be to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Alleluia. Amen.
Scripture for the Day
But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray. (Luke 5:16)
Reflection
Great crowds of the desperate, hungry, needy, sick, and simply curious gathered around Jesus. He encouraged, fed, healed, and satisfied though with needs, and the crowds grew even greater. “But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” In the midst of Jesus’ busy ministry, he sought and found quiet places in which he could direct his heart and mind to God.
As we return today to AXIA 113’s ministry site for work with its Farsi program, many will come with needs. In the inwardness and quiet of your soul, can you listen for the Lord’s voice even in the midst of chaos and clamoring? Before and after our service, will you find a quiet place for prayer?

The Lord’s Prayer
Concluding Prayers
Almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought us in safety to this new day. Preserve us with your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity, and in all we do direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
