My Family

I couldn’t have asked for a better family to have grown up with. My mom, Amy, graduated from the University of Colorado and had all kinds of jobs, everything from owning a construction company to selling medical devices. My father, Scott, graduated from Marshal University while living his dream to pole vault. After graduating he went to chiropractic school and became a chiropractor in Woodland Park for over 10 years. My older brother, Cory, who is 24 years old is one of the hardest workers I know. After deciding not to attend college, he immediately started working. After years of working his way up at Starbucks he finally got the opportunity he was looking for. At just 24 he became the manager of the Starbucks and restaurant at the magnolia hotel in downtown Denver. My family has made me who I am today, I couldn’t have made it when I am without them.

Backpacking Trips

When I was younger, my dad and I used to go on a backpacking trip each year. It was some of my greatest memories as a child; sleeping under the stars, hiking, fishing, and swimming. One of my favorite times was when we found a small lake that could only be found on a map from 1994. Getting to the lake was an adventure in itself because we had to cross rivers and use a compass to find it. Once we got to the lake we began fishing for the huge trout we saw in the lake. the fish however, would not bite our hooks. After hours of watching fish swim past our hooks we decided to make a trap in the lake that the fish would swim into. Once the fish swam into the small cove we created, we closed it off and dove into the water and caught the fish with our sleeping bag cases.
