“B” Association Nominee Jaden Owens Named to Homecoming Court

One of the highlights of Baylor’s Homecoming festivities is the announcement of the Homecoming Court. The Court provides an opportunity to recognize the leadership, service and accomplishments of a wide range of students whose involvement crosses organizations, activities and academic interests across the University. All chartered student organizations are invited to nominate one representative to be considered for the Court. Finalists are interviewed by a panel of faculty and alumni judges who determine the five men and five women who will represent the University and name a Homecoming Queen and King.

Each year, the “B” Association invites head coaches from all Baylor women’s sports to submit the name of a student-athlete they feel deserves consideration for Homecoming Queen. To our delight, this year’s nominee, Jaden Owens from Women’s Basketball, was selected as a Princess in the Homecoming Court last night at Pigskin Revue!

Jaden is classified as a senior, entering her third year at Baylor as a guard on the Women’s Basketball Team. She successfully completed her undergraduate studies in Communications in just three years and is currently working toward a Master of Education in Sport Management. She is a two-time Big XII Champion, a Baylor Athletics Academic Champion, and was named to the Dean’s list last year.

She is passionate about her relationship with God and wants to impact others with her faith. Because of this, it is very important to Jaden that she takes time to pour into her community. She has been a guest speaker to local kids at Mission Waco, as well as to teenage girls at Frisco Memorial High School. She also serves at her church in the kids ministry and is featured on her church’s daily news.  Jaden has invested significant time into developing her personal brand which has brought a substantial amount of positive attention to Baylor Women’s Basketball, as well as to women’s athletics in general.

She partnered with H&R Block to promote equal opportunity for women and has worked with Overtime, a sports media company geared towards Gen Z sports fans, to bring real life collegiate sports experiences into the social media space. Through this, she also was invited to the Overtime Takeover Event in Atlanta in May where she was able to invest in younger athletes by coaching a girls basketball team, as well as modeling a great example of what a successful collegiate athlete can be. Jaden actively seeks to grow in her communication skillset with her involvement interviewing Baylor Football Wide Receivers with SicEm365, as well as sport broadcasting for Overtime.

Congratulations, Jaden, on being crowned as a 2022 Homecoming Princess!  We are proud to have you represent the “B” Association and Baylor Athletics!
