“B” Association to Honor Former Center Randy Grimes

The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics will recognize former center, Randy Grimes, as a 2019 Baylor Football Legend at the Baylor vs. Stephen F. Austin game on Saturday, August 31.

A three-year starter for Legendary Head Football Coach Grant Teaff from 1980-82, Grimes led the Bears to the 1980 Southwest Conference Championship and the 1981 Cotton Bowl. He earned All-SWC honors following his senior season and he went on to represent Baylor in the 1982 Blue-Gray College All Star Game. Grimes was selected in the 2nd round of the 1983 NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he played 10 seasons before retiring in 1992.

Since retiring, Grimes has devoted much of his life to helping find treatment and resources for athletes who are suffering with substance abuse. He is currently the National Director of Business Development for Transformations Treatment Center in Delray, Florida. He is also a regular keynote speaker for corporate events and conferences—and a commentator on numerous national TV networks, including the NFL Network, CNN, and Fox Sports. In addition, on Friday, September 6th, Grimes will be inducted into the Mike Ditka’s Gridiron Greats Hall of Fame. For more information about the induction ceremony, click here.
