Christmas Crafts!

Hello Readers!

As we all know the Christmas Season is upon us!! Its time to whip your Christmas albums ( *NSYNC’s Home for Christmas Album…an absolute yes), movies, and decorations! Begrudgingly give into your holiday spirit Scrooge! For kids, Christmas is the time to get the absolute best Leggos, Furbies, and Beanie Babies (Do these still exist?). But what about for us older kids? We basically have everything we at least need and probably want, so what do we give each other? Our parents? No fear, the answer is here! Crafts! Crafts are definitely a great to show someone you care, especially the more effort you put into them. During the summer, I made an afghan for my best friends Dad who is basically my Dad. It took me about three weeks to make and finish and finally give to him. When he received it he said, we was very touched by receiving the blanket, but more so that I thought about him the entire time I was making it. That is what I think is important when making a craft for someone–keeping them in mind. So if you decide to make your loved ones crafts this year, I hope you keep them in mind. Make what they like, not what you like. Remember ’tis the season for giving!

Furthemore, crafts aren’t as expensive as actually buying a real gift! For that afghan I made I probably spent about $15 dollars buying all the yarn, but for a smaller crochet project I’ll spend about $3. Outside of crochet projects sometimes I spend about $5-$10 dollars on average depending upon the project. When’s the last time you got a cool gift for $5? Of course this all depends on the project you make, but craft stores often have major coupons for 50% to 75% off any purchase on lots of things!! You can’t beat that! Also, a lot of times you can make crafts based on things lying around your house, so your gift can be free! For a college student “free” is always a good word to hear!
