52 – 24

Last night we played the number one college football team in the country. If that’s true we were the number one college football team in the world. Football is my favorite sport to watch and yesterday’s game only reinforced that.

After a usually Saturday morning of homework, grading papers, and catching up on projects I was more than happy to head out to Floyd Casey Stadium to watch Baylor play Kansas State. To be honest, I was just glad to take a break and watch football. This year hasn’t been the best for Baylor football but every game has seemed to be within our grasp.  Fortunately that wasn’t the case last night. Within 2 minutes we were in the end zone and thus initiated a tense but exciting first quarter. The offense was strong and the defense responded as well. It was back and forth and an interception on the goal line changed the momentum for Kansas State at the end of the half.

The Baylor response coming out in the third quarter was fantastic and the defense held for the rest of the game. It wasn’t as dramatic as the first half but anticipation of victory grew as the seconds ticked off the clock. The music blared and the whole stadium was jumping with excitement. It was 52 to 24 Baylor, Kansas State had the bad but no chance at a comeback. Finally, the game was over and everyone rushed the field, emptying the bleachers, and giving everyone at Baylor a reason to celebrate! Let’s keep this momentum for the rest of the year and all the way to a bowl game. Go Baylor!

Now for some shaky-cam footage!
