Do you know a Baylor faculty member, staff member or student with a strong commitment to undergraduate research?  Honor their hard work by nominating them for the second annual URSA Awards in Excellence! Presented by the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the Undergraduate Research & Scholarly Achievement Steering Committee, the Awards in Excellence recognize unique contributions that help make research a part of the Baylor undergraduate experience.

Click here to access the Awards in Excellence nomination form.  Nominations are due by Friday, March 21.

Awards are presented in three categories:

Outstanding Research Mentor
Outstanding Research Mentor awards recognize individual faculty researchers or faculty research teams that demonstrate excellence in mentoring undergraduate students in a research setting. To fully recognize the breadth of our campus research community, awards are presented in two categories.  One is awarded to a faculty member or research team in arts, humanities, and professional disciplines and the other recognizes those who provide mentorship in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and health-related disciplines.

Excellence in Leadership
The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals, programs, or organizations that demonstrate leadership, imagination and persistence in developing research opportunities for undergraduate students.

Exceptional Service
This award is presented in honor of exceptional service by faculty, students or staff in building support for undergraduate research activities. Examples include, but are not limited to, playing a significant role in obtaining funding to support research endeavors, providing the means to present scholarly work via conferences or publication, encouraging diversity in research, building research curriculum and providing other types of programmatic support. Nominations in this category usually come from the URSA Steering Committee, Awards Subcommittee, or the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.
