Dr. Marjorie Stone (English, Dalhousie University) will be presenting “The Black Dove’s Mark: The Elizabeth Barrett Browning Archives and Nineteenth-Century Literary History.” The talk will discuss working manuscripts from across Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s career, including those connected to the genesis of the Sonnets from the Portuguese and “The Runaway Slave at Pilgrim’s Point,” as well as the manuscript of “The African,” published for the first time in 2010.
