Secret Santa

Although I’ve been gone from my residency for several days now, I have checked in with the other resident who is spending a whole year with Lake Pointe. Lately the administrative team is busy with finishing up end of the year projects and is also preparing for the holidays.

In order to celebrate the holidays, the administrative team at Lake Pointe holds an annual Secret Santa. It lasts for two weeks and the administrative team shares a list of gifts they would like for their Secret Santas to purchase from. I’ve never done a formal Secret Santa, so I was really excited for it!

Although I was leaving before Secret Santa had ended, I was still able to participate. My Secret Santa was nice enough to have my gifts to me before my last day. I brought enough gifts ahead of time for my person to be given gifts even though I was gone. It was a lot of fun to see everyone on the administrative team trying to sneak around while giving each other gifts. I’m notoriously bad at keeping fun secrets like this, so it was definitely challenging for me as well!

At the end of the two weeks the team has a holiday lunch where Secret Santas are revealed. Since I left early I found out who my Secret Santa was ahead of time. Although I could have spent much more time at Lake Pointe getting to know everyone even better, the faculty at Lake Pointe really became my support group and a group of people that were always able to put a smile on my face. It’s been an incredible journey and I’ve been very thankful to be included in traditions and fun with the rest of the team throughout my residency. I’m really going to miss everyone!
