I honestly think that the first visual provided by makeover monday is the best way of visualizing this data set. The stacked bar chart with different colors for each nation and quantity labels very clearly show the data.

I changed my visual to be a horizontal, segmented bar chart, with a changing color intensity to represent the data in a different way. I think my method has more flaws, but at least presents the data in a different and interesting way. I do think it represents a timeline in a better format.
