My Philosophy of Health

My philosophy of health is based on the idea that health something that cannot be attached to a dollar value. Health is variable in each individual’s life and this is because health does not just encompass one aspect of our lives. It encompasses almost every major aspect of our lives ranging from where we work and what we do, our social relationships and our education level. There is always a risk that an aspect of our health could be compromised. That is why health promotion and health education is so important. Health is integral to human satisfaction and prosperity. It likewise is an essential commitment to economic growth, as healthy populations live longer, they will be more beneficial to society.

The education level of a society is very important because an uninformed population can cause more harm than good to itself. Health promotion can influence healthcare policies but it can also trickle down to neighborhoods and communities. There are things that individuals can do to aid themselves in maintaining good health such as drinking water daily, reducing their intake of unhealthy foods and exercising for at least half an hour to reduce stress and get adequate amounts of sleep. This is where I feel the community and family aspect come into play. Living in an environment where healthy living is heavily promoted can make these simple things even easier and much more routine. Opposed to an environment where healthy activities are not as actively encouraged. Economics also plays a direct role in the health and well-being of an individual. While society promotes healthy eating it, the big food production companies do not make this an easy task for the poorer people in society. Which is a major issue for society, if agencies made healthy food more accessible to people from lower income homes the society as a whole could be made better.

Health and wellbeing is the search for improved personal satisfaction, self-improvement, and potential through constructive life practices and states of mind. When we assume liability for our own wellbeing and prosperity, we can enhance our well-being every day.
