Sunday 7 December 2014: 2nd Sunday of Advent

Sunday School Attd: 4
Youth Group: 4

Today we started a new session of Disney, so for this Sunday and the next we will be using Lilo & Stitch.

After High and Lows we started the movie.
The first portion of the film (about 37 min) we watched in Sunday School.
We saw the introduction and similarities between Stitch, and Lilo, and their social interactions, and how they are both outsiders and despised. We finished up with the beginning of Stitch’s turnaround. He’s been adopted by Lilo, as she seeks a friend to help her, and be with her. Ohana is first mentioned too.

Tonight for Youth Group, i intend to show the similarities between the main characters and Zacchaeus. The exclusion, the hatred, and the difficulties Zach had to face, compared to the Disney version. Ill conclude with the Love, that begins the change. Lilo’s love. Jesus’ love.

Tonight’s game: Pictionary Re-Stroy!

each player had a piece of paper, with a selected theme (Disney, Sports, Superheroes, etc.) they drew something within a minute. Then they had 10 seconds to rip it apart. they gave the pieces to the person next to them and had to put it back together and figure out what it was in a minute!

Here’s to the first

This here. This post is the first of a few/ many that will be my new blog. I am dedicating this blog to my Youth group. As a Small group leader, Youth Intern, and Sunday School Teacher,  this blog will serve as a wall. Ill throw stuff at it, spray paint my ideas on it, run into it, and hopefully learn a few things, or share at least one or two good ideas for your group or your own personal journey.
