NPR (National Public Radio) has everything from news to humor. It’s great for listeners who don’t like to hear people yelling at each other.
Two of my favorite NPR shows are “On the Media,” which is about the media (duh), and “Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me,” which is a humorous show that covers the week’s news.
PBS has great news and information. Just try not to get distracted watching the previews for Downton Abbey. Click the “programs” tab, and you will see the huge array of quality programming!
This Facebook page includes news story links complied by a UT journalism professor, based on what would interest today’s college students. “Like” it.
Yes, Huffington Post always has the gossipy stuff, but they also have links to the biggest stories:
Texas news, especially politics, can be found at the Texas Tribune. Business students might be interested to know that the Texas Tribune operates as a nonprofit organization.
Try these links for international news. It’s always a good idea to find out what the rest of the world thinks is interesting and important.
The New York Times has a pay wall, but you can look at a few stories.
Bloomberg is a basic for business news.
The Wall Street Journal has really great writing in addition to business news, for you non-business types.
You might also like the LA Times, and I don’t think there is a pay wall.
