WordPress is a sophisticated, yet simple-to-use, content management system capable of providing personal, professional, or project-oriented websites. CampusPress is Baylor’s partner for academically focused WordPress networks who also offers extensive learning-focused tools that provide a stable, secure, and hassle-free network for teachers and students within a scalable hosting infrastructure.

CampusPress provides multiple WordPress networks for Baylor University, each with their own unique benefits and capabilities. While the underlying architecture of each of these networks is WordPress, the functionality of each CampusPress network is customized to suit the needs of that network’s users.

Blogs [blogs.baylor.edu]
The blogs network is available to all faculty, staff, and students at Baylor University. This network is designed for anyone affiliated with Baylor to create a personal or professional website. In addition, the blogs network has themes and plugins enabled focusing on academic coursework. Instructors can request course blogs websites which can be linked to Canvas allowing faculty to easily manage a course blog based on their Canvas course enrollments. This makes the blogs network an excellent resource to facilitate creative writing assignments, group projects, or other academically oriented projects to increase students’ level of engagement.

Sites [sites.baylor.edu]
The sites network is available only to faculty and staff at Baylor University. This network is designed primarily for teaching or research faculty to create professional or project-based websites using WordPress. Authorized students can be invited as contributors to websites, but students are not permitted to own websites on this network. Using the default CampusPress Flex theme, users can even make their WordPress website look similar to Baylor’s existing departmental websites. Official departmental websites still belong in the University’s content management system supported by Digital Marketing, but the sites network is an excellent resource for centers, research labs, departmental projects, or other professional endeavors at Baylor.

Availability

Faculty and staff can visit sites.baylor.edu or blogs.baylor.edu and log in with your BearID, password, and Duo two-factor authentication. On successful log in, a user account and website is automatically created (i.e., sites.baylor.edu/Bear_ID).
