Dr. Stephen J. Trumble

I consider myself a vertebrate physiological ecologist; one that integrates various approaches to answer questions pertaining to understanding the physiological mechanisms of polar species. My goals are to continue working with colleagues on issues relating to the marine and terrestrial environment.

I believe in exposing students to both the lab and the field; its difficult to understand how an animal works when all you’re exposed to is a bench top (to quote Mark Twain “A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way”). Involving students in research is something that benefits everyone involved.
