Journalist Ron Berler to speak March 26 [3/11/2014]

219526Journalist Ron Berler believes he knows how to save America’s “failing” schools. He spent a year immersed in an elementary school, getting to know the students, the teachers, and the system. His resulting book, Raising the Curve, is the basis for Berler’s presentations at Baylor on March 26. Berler will speak at 5:30 in the Fifth Floor Conference Room of the Cashion Academic Building. The event is free and open to the public. Berler will also meet with students in Marrs McLean Science Building for a brown-bag lunch discussion at 11:45 a.m. in Garden Level Room 16. Baylor Round Table visits SOE [2/25/2014]

Baylor Round Table, a social and cultural organization for Baylor women, held its February meeting in the School of Education’s new home in Marrs McLean Science Building. The group members are learning about different campus programs and facilities for their series of monthly meetings in 2013-14.
SOE dean Dr. Jon Engelhardt spoke to the group and contrasted Baylor’s teacher preparation program with previous models, pointing out the strength of the Baylor clinical model in preparing teachers for immediate leadership in the classroom.
