Baylor Round Table, a social and cultural organization for Baylor women, held its February meeting in the School of Education’s new home in Marrs McLean Science Building. The group members are learning about different campus programs and facilities for their series of monthly meetings in 2013-14.

SOE dean Dr. Jon Engelhardt spoke to the group and contrasted Baylor’s teacher preparation program with previous models, pointing out the strength of the Baylor clinical model in preparing teachers for immediate leadership in the classroom.

Graduate students in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction also told the group about their positive experiences at Baylor and the support of SOE faculty in their learning journey. Lauren Haigler, who is studying secondary education, and Megan McGraw, who is studying elementary education, are both graduates of Baylor’s undergraduate teacher education program as well.

Prior to the program, associate dean Dr. Doug Rogers led tours of the building, with the help of Dorothy Schleicher, a member of the Round Table group who is director of the SOE’s Learning Resource Center.
