Alumni Corner

Welcome to our Alumni Corner, where you can check out updates from Baylor Public Health Alumni.

Alumni Network Updates

Our Alumni Network is in full swing! The Network consists of two committees, the Events & Homecoming Committee and Mentorship Committee. I’m excited to announce the chair and co-chair for the Mentorship committee have been selected. Congrats to Rebecca Munoz and Wanji Banda!

We are currently searching for alumni interested in chairing our Events and Homecoming Committee, as well as alumni who are looking for other ways to get involved. If interested, fill out the Alumni Network Interest Form.

We will also be hosting two interest meetings for those wanting to learn more about our committees and opportunities to get involved.

Alumni Book Recommendation

My April book recommendation is ready for your Amazon cart, or if like me, your next trip to Barnes & Noble to pick it up in person. Beth Macy’s “Dopesick” is a raw, investigative journalism masterpiece that exposes us, without a filter, to the darkness and despair of opioid addiction that has devastated rural communities and big cities alike for the past 25+ years. She takes us right into the heart of the problem, looking at it through the lives of people living through it (and some who don’t survive) across SW Virginia, Eastern KY, and West Virginia. There are some obvious demons but thankfully angels to report on as well. I’ll tell you, you can’t read this book without being affected by it.
