The artifact I chose to focus on is a popular slogan used to assign the roles men and women possess in the business field. It states, “Women Take Care, Men Take Charge.” It is well known than men are perceived as dominant and assertive, while women fall under the image of being obedient and accommodating; however, females are just as capable of becoming an authoritative leader. These gender roles and stereotypes have allowed women to fall under the role of a follower, rather than a leadership position they strive to achieve.
To show that women are as equally composed as men, I redesigned the artifact to propose that “Women and Men Take Care and Take Charge”. Although females tend to struggle more with the stereotype of feeling too emotional or sensitive, males also face being viewed as aggressive and self-confident, though that may not be the case. By redesigning the quote, it supports that women do not always have to be a follower, and men can stray from their leadership position.
