Swank Digital Campus

Provides access to 1000 of the top academic streaming videos and documentaries “solely for the purposes of research, teaching, and private study” (no public performance use). Simple search by film title; use advanced search for names of cast or director. Browse by title, release date, or category (documentary, war, sci-fi, etc.); includes some foreign language films. Links to films and documentaries may be copied and placed in Canvas to assign them for viewing by students. Registration for instructors required on first use (to gain additional functionality) and recommended for students for convenience.

Theatre in Video. Volume II

A streaming video collection of 400 hours of new, international, and contemporary performances; ground- breaking documentaries; and critical instructional series for theatre and drama programs across the globe, including many new performances from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre collection (Opus Arte), Theatre Arts Films, the BBC, and TMW Media Group.

Naxos Video Library

Provides streaming access to more than 2,000 full-length videos, including classical music concerts, operas, ballets, documentaries, and theatre performances. Search options include composer, artist, and type of performance, as well as roles, production personnel, venues, and festivals. Subtitles are available for some performances, in up to five different languages. Divisions such as scenes and arias can be accessed directly, and custom clips can be created for use in presentations. Two download speeds are offered: 700 Kbps (standard quality) and 2 Mbps (high quality). The latter is comparable to a DVD image

60 Minutes — 1997-2014

Provides streaming video access to the 60 Minutes news show archive for the third and fourth decades of this long -running news show. Includes transcripts of the videos for ease of citation, and a citation export feature. Topics covered include international and national news, politics, women’s studies, society and culture, and many more. Also included are segments from the CBS show CBS Sunday Morning. Features include browsing by subject, keyword (with additional limiters to narrow the results), discipline-based pages for starting points, and the ability to create clips for playlists and inclusion in Canvas for viewing by students

Building on the foundational content in the first volume, Ethnographic Video Online: Volume II introduces valuable archival material while also focusing on the state of the discipline today. Current issues such as environmental crises, refugee migration, and endangered languages are well documented, and every sub-discipline of anthropology will be represented, including cultural, linguistic, applied, social, visual, urban, medical, and physical anthropologies, as well as archaeology. The collection includes contemporary films from partners such as ZED, the BBC, and RAI, as well as targeted content from Documentary Educational Resources and key archives including the Grenada Centre of Anthropology at the University of Manchester.

Provides online access to a digital streaming video collection of unique films of current, leading British theatre productions. Includes behind-the-scenes documentaries as well as teaching and learning resources to facilitate a deeper understanding of the productions and texts. Learning resources include a detailed introduction, plot summary, character biographies, a relationship map, language analysis, scene study, performance background and historical context for each play.
