Developed by writing instructors and librarians, this resource consists of nine Learning Modules and seven interactive tools – designed to automate the basic parts of the research process. The multimedia-based learning modules engage students to think more critically and creatively about their research, while other interactive tools help students navigate through the research process more quickly to spend more time on the research that interests them most. Covering Native American cultures from prior to the colonization of the North American continent (Canada, Mexico, and the United States) to the Rights Movement of the 20th century, the materials in this collection cover 11 broad themes in culture, history, education, religion, government relations, treaties and wars, trade, and 20th century political activism, among others. Includes coverage of indigenous peoples from Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Primary source documents, maps and atlases, visual images, art, photographs, linguistic and ethnographic accounts, 20th century American Indian newspapers, etc. Drawn from the Ayers Collection at the Newberry Library, a premier collection of Native and Indigenous documents, art, and history. May exclude some culturally sensitive materials regarding ceremonies and religious practices. Images may be selected to create slideshows. Searchable by keyword; browse by Tribes & Nations, documents, maps, visual resources, and chronology. Most materials are in English, but there are documents and maps in Spanish and French. International Historical Statistics

A unique collection of statistics covering a wide range of socio-economic topics using collections of data sets taken from hundreds of disparate primary sources, including both official national and international abstracts – back to 1750 and up to 2010.

Last year, EBSCO Publishing bought HW Wilson.  EBSCO is in the process of migrating all Wilson databases to the EBSCOhost platform.  The following Wilson databases acquired by the Baylor University Libraries have been moved to the EBSCOhost platform:

The remaining Wilson databases should be migrated to the EBSCOhost platform before the end of February 2012, and include the following resources acquired by the Baylor University Libraries:

The Book Citation Index has been added to our Web of Knowledge subscription for a trial period. To use this feature, click on the “Cited Reference Search” link and complete the search form. Just below the search form you will see “Citation Databases” with a “+” to the left. click on that plus to view the options that allow you to narrow your cited search to books or chapters in books.

Access to Mideast and Islamic Resources

This project began as a consequence of a series of conversations in 2010 between Charles Jones and Peter Magierski at NYU about the need for a tool to assemble and distribute information on open access material relating to the Middle East.
