Includes coverage of indigenous peoples from Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Primary source documents, maps and atlases, visual images, art, photographs, linguistic and ethnographic accounts, 20th century American Indian newspapers, etc. Drawn from the Ayers Collection at the Newberry Library, a premier collection of Native and Indigenous documents, art, and history. May exclude some culturally sensitive materials regarding ceremonies and religious practices. Images may be selected to create slideshows. Searchable by keyword; browse by Tribes & Nations, documents, maps, visual resources, and chronology. Most materials are in English, but there are documents and maps in Spanish and French. London Review of Books

Since 1979, the London Review of Books has stood up for the tradition of the literary and intellectual essay in English. Each issue contains up to 15 long reviews and essays by academics, writers and journalists. There are also shorter art and film reviews, as well as poems and a lively letters page. A typical issue moves through political commentary to science or ancient history by way of literary criticism and social anthropology.

Humanities Full Text includes many of the most important academic journals in the humanities with the full text of articles from over 300 periodicals dating back to 1995, and high-quality indexing for almost 700 journals–of which 470 are peer-reviewed–dating as far back as 1984. The database provides coverage of feature articles, interviews, bibliographies, obituaries, and original works of fiction, drama, poetry and book reviews, as well as reviews of ballets, dance programs, motion pictures, musicals, radio and television programs, plays, operas, and more.

This resource was available from FirstSearch and has been moved to the EBSCOhost platform.  It indexes art journals published in the U.S. during the 19th century that do not appear in any other index. Contains articles, art notes, stories, poems and advertisements. Offers essential information on artists and illustrators, painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, architecture and design, exhibitions and sales, decoration, and collecting.

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals

This resource used to be available from FirstSearch and is now available from EBSCOhost.

This database surveys U.S. and foreign journals. The index covers international, scholarly and popular periodical literature, including publications of professional associations, U.S. state and regional periodicals, and major serial publications on the architecture and design of Europe, Asia, Latin America and Australia. This database also provides citation records for architects’ obituaries.
