American History, 1493-1859 (Module I)

Provides full-text searching for primary source documents (manuscripts, books, images) from the Colonial era through the abolition of slavery. Designed to coordinate and support college-level survey courses in American history this first module includes books, diaries and broadsides; military, legal, and government documents; and artwork, photography, correspondence, and newspapers, among other types. You may search for persons, recipients, event, or date; browse by date or any of more than two dozen thematic groupings. Materials are sourced from three outstanding collections of Americana: The Gilder Lehrman Collection, and the papers of Henry Knox and the papers of the Livingstone Family.
