BREEDING CHAMPION LABRADOR RETRIEVERS

Dr. Shoaf has been a AKC Registered breeder of champion labrador retrievers since 1978.  For the past 5 years she has been very active in dog rescue transporting and the fostering of rescue dogs.  She has transported and fostered dogs rescued from horrible and in – humane situations and seen them through to new ‘fur – ever’ homes in Texas, Chicago, Montana, Arizona, Florida, New York, Massachusetts, California, and New Jersey.  Dr. Shoaf transports rescued dogs all over the state of Texas, but her longest transport was from Georgia to Texas.  Her passenger was an English Setter, Austin Avery, who now lives in Palm Beach, Calilfornia.

Dr. Shoaf is also very active in Pet Partners Animal Assisted Therapy.  Dr. Shoaf is pictured above with her labrador, Abbie  (Jacob’s Meadow’s Lady Abigail), who is an active  member of the local Waco Chapter of Pet Partners, Angel Paws.  Together they visit hospitals, assisted living homes, hospice patients, nursing homes, and schools.  They are often invited to speak at local organizations as the Craniofacial Aware Day in Waco, Texas present the Angel Paws’ Be a Buddy NOT a Bully, Woof, Woof, Woof program at schools.  Abbie is a third – generation Angel Paw Pet Partner.  Her grandmother,  Penny (Winterset’s Lady Penelope) and and her mother Maggie (Jacob’s Meadow’s Lady Margaret) loved every minute of their Angel Paws activities.  Abbie’s greatest memories were of being with her Aunt Carmen and her Aunt Karen before and during their time in hospice care.  The Bishop of the Dioscese of San Antonio asked Abbie to attend her Aunt Carmen’s Celebration of Life Mass.  It was a moving experience for those attending the Mass to have Abbie there and during the three hour reception that followed.  Abbie did her job as she always has loving and calming all those around her.
