Characteristics of different waveforms

sin- smooth wave that represents a simple harmonic motion

square- this wave alternates rapidly between two voltage levels which creates a rectangular shape.

sawtooth- this wave rapidly increases to a maximum value and then quickly drops to the minimum value, creating a sawtooth shape.

triangle- This wave linearly increases and then decreases between two voltage levels, forming a triangular shape.
