I love archery because my dad taught me to love it. He grew up in rural Oklahoma shooting a bow that cost something like thirteen dollars. He was a teenager when compound bows first became popular. It is comical listening to him express the disgust they had for the new technology. They claimed that a compound bow wasn’t really a bow. I have adopted many of his attitudes. For instance, I will always maintain that a crossbow is not a bow. It’s a gun that shoots bolts.
