Every now and then you run across a picture that just inspires a comment. Being sort of a quantitative geek, when I saw these two cats, I immediately thought “kurtosis”.
Kurtosis is a description of how peaky a distribution is and how heavy the tails are. Distributions that are taller and skinnier than a normal distribution are called leptokurtic, and those flatter and wider than normal are called platykurtic. So what kind of cat do you have?
