Band Directors and Private Teachers

Dear school district band directors and private teachers:

Thank you for visiting my website and wanting to know more about me and the Baylor Clarinet Studio.

I moved back to Texas in 2012. It is my second year now at Baylor where I graduated 14 years ago.

In June, one of my junior music education majors just won the second prize for the Orchestral Solo Competition at the International Clarinet Association Conference in Assisi, Italy. I am very proud of him.

Thank you so much for sending your students to the Baylor camp every year as well!!
I am very honored to be back to Baylor, to Texas to work with all the wonderful college and high school students here. One of my main missions is getting to know the band directors and students around the area and hope to work together in someways to help out the clarinet students in general.

I love to provide more teaching services for your students if I may.

Here are some ideas I have come up with from my past and current experiences.

1) Clinics for All State/Region auditions or master class – I would love to meet you in person and get to know more of your wonderful students. Please let me know. Fridays are good for me to go out. If you have some honorarium for my time/gas, it would be great, if not, that would be fine.

2) The Amadeus Youth Clarinet Ensemble- That is the group I founded 5 years ago in Minnesota. The goal is helping students develop their ensemble and leadership playing in the band/orchestra. I am looking for more advanced students from both middle and high school students. We will rehearse weekly on either on Saturdays or Sunday afternoon. ( it will be decided soon). The cost is only $10 per-section ( for one hour and 15 minutes) . It is also great for me to meet all the hardworking talented students who could not afford lessons and I can take care them under my “wing”.
We will perform two concerts each year along with the Baylor Clarinet Choir

This is the video link regarding the group

Please email me if you have some students might would like to be part of it, or they can email me directly.

3) Clarinet Choir Festival- first weekend of April
On Saturday, April 5th,2014, I will host the Second Annual Clarinet Choir Festival at Baylor. I will give master classes to non college students and workshops for the band directors, conduct clarinet choir, and invite different groups from different school to perform as well. The end of the day, we will feature a special guest, a dear friend of mine, Steve Ahearn, the clarinetist from the Dallas Symphony. It would be a fun events for all of us. Could you please check your calendar and let me know if you and your students would like to be part of it?

4) Private Lessons:
Yes, I do have some room to teach private students from middle to high school level students.
If you would like to find one of my students to teach, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. I will make sure the ones who will work with you and your students are great players, and responsible teachers. I think it is very important for everyone.

5) There are many wonderful concerts at Baylor. If you do not have the brochure from the music school, please let me know. I will be more than happy to send you one or I can send you concert information via email if you wish..

It is very nice to meet you (on line) anyway. Please do not hesitate to contact me via baylor.clarinet.studio@gmail.com if you have more questions. Have a wonderful school year and love to work with you soon!

Sincerely,
Jun Qian
