The use of 3-D is a silly gimmick and, really, so is the movie, but it’s all in bloody good fun if you’re into that kind of thing. Extra points should also be awarded for the fact that this reimagining of a relatively obscure 1981 low-budget Canadian slasher has a decent plot with genuine mystery, characters who have graduated from college, and a sick sense of humor that offsets some of the more routine cliches and logical gaps. Think of it as a gory theme park ride. (Starplex 16, Waco, TX)
