High Crimes (Carl Franklin, 2002)

High_CrimesOne of a string of Ashley Judd-in-danger films released in the late ’90s and early 2000s, this straightforward military thriller about a wife trying to save her former Marine husband after he is accused of brutally murdering civilians in South America doesn’t have a lot of weight, but it managed to keep me engaged even after I had already guessed what the final twist would be. And, let’s face it, it’s just about impossible not to enjoy a movie with Morgan Freeman on some level, even if he’s stuck playing a cliche renegade lawyer. (Blu-Ray)
